More Celebrities supporting sustainability

More and more celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Rosario Dawsonn, and Jane Fonda have committed themselves to fight for the future of the planet.

Jane Fonda’s Fire Drill Friday Arrests

When Greta Thunberg threw a challenge at adults to join young people in fighting for their future, Jane Fonda responded. ‘Don’t let us fight for this by ourselves,’ Greta Thunberg said in a passionate plea.

Jane Fonda felt inspired by the work of younger environmentalists like Greta. She answered the challenge by immersing herself in the Fire Drill Friday demonstrations and made headlines for it.

Jane Fonda who starred in Monster-in-Law picketed on Washington D.C.’s Capitol Hill on Fridays during the Fall of 2019 and was arrested multiple times. The demonstrations are just the beginning for Fonda. She’s not done.

“There’s never been a ticking time bomb hanging over our heads. You know, this isn’t one war or one issue in one place. This is the future of the entire planet,” Jane Fonda said. “There’s a looming catastrophe that will affect all of humanity. That’s what’s different. That’s never happened before in the history of humankind.”

The Joker star made his statement by wearing the same tuxedo to every award ceremony in 2020. He even wore it to the 2021 Oscars.

Phoenix received a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama at the 2020 Golden Globe ceremony. He showed up in the same Stella McCartney tux and took advantage of the opportunity to urge other stars to try to do better by Mother Earth.

The award-winning actor also protested in Fire Drill Fridays with Jane Fonda, where he got arrested.

Titanic Star Invests Millions in Climate Change

Through his Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, the actor has worked since 1998 towards restoring a fragile ecosystem to balance for a healthier future for all.

DiCaprio was appointed United Nations’ representative for climate change. He has donated millions towards the noble cause.

The Bond actor has been honoured multiple times for his work towards preserving the environment. The Oceana group honoured Brosnan as did Sustainable Style Foundation which named him the Best-dressed Environmentalist of 2004.

The actor worked with Greenpeace in the 1990s.

Somerhalder who starred in the Vampire Diaries founded the Ian Somerhalder Foundation to fundraise for raising awareness and developing green energy. Somerhalder earned the title UN Environmental Programme Goodwill Ambassador on World Environment Day in 2014.

The actress helped put in a solar energy roof for the Sydney Theatre Company in Australia. She has also supported SolarAid, I Speak Earth, and other charities.
