In an open letter addressed to newly sworn-in president Joe Biden, the Titanic staradded his name to many other notable ones, including Jane Fonda, Questlove in a passionate appeal to the President to make it a priority.
DiCaprio posted the open letter to Biden on his Instagram and emphasized that it was time to deal with the climate change crisis.
The actor joined others in asking the President to spearhead the fight against Climate Change. They said that people needed such a leader and science demanded it. The actor also posted an image of the letter on Instagram.
The letter recognized the President’s decision to join the Paris agreement but added that it was not enough.
The letter begins by congratulating the just inaugurated President; calling his election a historical moment and a turning point for the World and United States in particular.
While recognizing the enormous task before President Biden, the letter nevertheless challenges the president to tackle the task ahead of him, including the economic crisis, the global health crisis, and the task of uniting a divided America.
